About San Francisco Adventist School

San Francisco Adventist School was established in 1912 and has provided continuous Christian education in the Bay Area for over 112 years. As a ministry of our local constituent churches and the Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, we are dedicated to academic excellence and spiritual growth.

Our school is fully accredited by the National Council for Private School Accreditation, the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, and the Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Our Philosophy

We believe that true education develops the spiritual, mental, and physical powers of each student—preparing them for the joy of service in this life and the life to come. To achieve this, we encourage each student to:

  • Develop a personal relationship with God and their community (Matthew 22:37-39).

  • Master essential academic skills to build a foundation for lifelong learning.

  • Value labor, both physical and mental, as a divine blessing.

  • Cultivate integrity, physical fitness, and mental clarity.

Our Mission

The mission of San Francisco Adventist School is to provide a learning environment that fosters a growing Christian experience while nurturing optimum cognitive, physical, social, and creative development.

The SFAS family exists to:

  • Show children Jesus.

  • Nurture their love for Him and others.

  • Teach them to think critically.

  • Empower them to serve.

Our goal is to teach each student how to study the Bible—the foundation of all truth—and apply its principles to daily living. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, our students pursue balanced excellence in every aspect of their lives.
