San Francisco Adventist School
Our Classroom Activities
August 27-31, 2007

Dear Families,

This week we begin our unit about “Totally Terrific Me!” In our classroom we are achieving a climate of broader social acceptance. During the next few weeks we will help the children develop positive self-esteem toward themselves and each other. This week we will focus on the following concepts:

  • I’m me. I’m special. There is no one else just like me.
  • I have a special name given to me when I was born. It is on my birth certificate.
  • No one has a voice like mine or fingerprints like mine.
  • I am like others in some ways; I am different from others in some ways.

Scavenger Hunt Homework

Look at home for two (2) objects that rhyme—have the same ending sounds. For example, bee/tree, fire/tire, etc. Put the two objects in this bag and bring it to school tomorrow. We’ll use these objects at school as we continue to learn about rhyming words this week.
