Surf’n Safari Summer Spectacular

Next week begins our Surf’n Safari Summer Spectacular at school. The fun begins every night at 6:30 pm and lasts until 8:00 pm. There’ll be fun and games, stories and songs, snacks and crafts, PLUS Monday night begins our Surf’n Safari Grand Championships! By Friday night we’ll have a Grand Champion! New Junior High Teacher

John Carrillo is our new junior high teacher this year. John recently graduated from SFSU and has completed the California Preliminary Single Subject Credential in Social Sciences at SFSU. This past year John taught 7th and 8th grade at A.P. Giannini Middle School here in the city. He’s also worked as a substitute for Napa Valley Unified School District in addition to providing services for the Napa Valley Dept. of Special Education. John is very active at the Voice of Hope Church that meets at our school on the weekend. Kids are going to love Mr. Carrillo! Make sure you come by the school for registration on Monday August 8 between 3–8 p.m. to meet him.

Mr. Carrillo sends his greetings to families at our school:

“As the newest member of SFAS, I am excited about my new classroom and the school environment. I can't wait until I am able to meet the students. I am looking forward to not only greeting the students, but also finding ways to challenge them in their school curriculum and seeing them overcome these challenges. I am excited about seeing the students grow as Christians and also personally being able to talk about God freely in the classroom with the students and the faculty and staff. I am excited about the growth potential: for students, staff and faculty, the school, parents, and especially the school itself.

“This new year will no doubt bring changes, but I am confident that we all can face them with confidence and peace, knowing that our Lord Jesus Christ has EVERYTHING already planned out so that we each can ultimately grow closer to Him.
