Dear Parents &
Friends of SFAS,
This past week for chapel our kids learned more about our first
outreach activity for this school year:
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Please
refer to the letter that was sent home with your child; it explains
more about this project. For a nice 5-minute video on Operation
Christmas Child, click on this picture. (Please be patient
while the video file loads.)
This is our third year to be involved with this project. I’m
expecting that we’ll have 200 boxes to send off this year!
Additional information can be found online at...
www.samaritanspurse.org.
BoxTops for Education
Next
Thursday, October 28, is the deadline for turning in all BoxTops.
These can be turned into the collection box in the office or given
to Mrs. Martell. The BoxTops program helps us raise money for school-wide
projects.
Thanks for your help with this program!

Uncle Bob’s Pumpkin Patch
Next
Friday my class will be going to Uncle Bob’s Pumpkin Patch
in Half Moon Bay.
The kids will have lots of fun seeing how pumpkins grow, feeding
farm animals, climbing on a hay mound, and navigating through a
corn maze.

Bob's Pumpkin Patch...
End of First Quarter
The end of the quarter is coming up fast—October 29.
All the help you can provide in making sure kids turn in their assignments
and projects is greatly appreciated.
Thank You!
This
week a second basketball backboard and stand has been donated to
the school. This week we’ve also had someone donate a new
fence for our playground—to replace the one that’s beginning
to deteriorate. I send a BIG Thank You to all who’ve been
involved with these two projects!
Festival of Cultures
Monday,
October 25 is our all-school field trip to Fremont to participate
in the Festival of Cultures. More information can be found
at www.greenmeadowsproductions.com.
This is going to be an exciting trip! Several parents have already
said they will be able to go with us—thank you! If you are
interested in going along, please contact Mr. Stickney in the office
so he can get a volunteer form to you.
Be sure to return to our office the permission slip that was sent
home with your child. More...
